The deceased was employed by the Hartman Furniture & Carpet Company (hereinafter called the company) as a rug picker. The building of the company was nine stories in height, and the various floors were connected by two freight elevators, one on the north side of the building and the other on the south side. In addition to these freight elevators there was also a passenger elevator.
