McMILLAN, Judge.

This appeal follows a conviction, pursuant to a guilty plea, for the offense of robbery in the third degree, in violation of § 13A-8-43, Code of Alabama (1975), and sentence of ten years’ imprisonment. For the reasons outlined below, we affirm.

On January 14, 1985, the appellant, armed with a pistol, entered the “Market Basket” convenience store on Yalleydale Road. The appellant demanded money from Mabel Arden, the clerk at the store, but then changed his mind and fled the scene.
