I. INTRODUCTION

Izumi Products Company (“Izumi”) filed an action against Koninklijke Philips Electronics and Philips Electronics North America Corporation N.Y. on March 1, 2002 for willful infringement of U.S. Patent No. 5,408,749 (the “ ’749 patent”) related to electric razors. (D.I.l) On May 9, 2002, both defendants denied the allegations of infringement and asserted nine affirmative defenses including invalidity, noninfringement, estoppel, and laches.
