DR Partners, d/b/a The Sherman Herald Democrat, brings this interlocutory appeal, which challenges the trial court’s denial of a motion for summary judgment in a defamation suit brought by Roy Vernon Floyd. See Tex. Crv. PRAC. & Rem.Code ANN. § 51.014(a)(6) (Vernon Supp.2006). Floyd, a city commissioner of the City of Bonham and County Chair of the Fannin County Democratic Party, was accused by political rivals of stealing campaign signs on election day.
