Petitioner (Appellant) was convicted of Rape, Ind.Code § 35-13-4-3 (Burns 1975) and Kidnapping, Ind.Code § 35-1-55-1 (Burns 1975) and sentenced to life imprisonment. On direct appeal this Court affirmed the conviction. Beard v. State, (1975) 262 Ind. 643, 323 N.E.2d 216.
