OPINION BY BENDER, J.:

¶ 1 Appellant, Glenn King, appeals pro se from the February 17, 2009, order dismissing his first petition for relief under the Post Conviction Relief Act (PCRA), 42 Pa.C.S. §§ 9541-9546. We vacate and remand for further proceedings.

¶ 2 Appellant was charged with a single count of robbery and, after a non-jury trial on October 8, 2004, before the Honorable Cheryl Allen, formerly of the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County, he was convicted of that offense.
