The State’s evidence shows: George T. McArthur, a man 68 years old, and his 62-year-old wife owned and operated a little store on Highway #11 about eight miles north of the city of Kinston. It is about “a stone’s throw” from the back door of the store to the bouse behind the store where they lived. About “dusky dark” on Sunday, 10 September 1961, George T. McArthur went to the store from his home.
