Plaintiff Sumitomo Corporation of America (“Sumitomo America”) commenced this action in admiralty against Defendant Companhia de Navegacao Lloyd Brasileiro (“Lloyd”) to recover for damages to a cargo of steel pipe carried from Brazil to Texas by Lloyd on the M/V Sie Kim. Lloyd has entered an indemnification claim against Atlantic & Gulf Stevedores, Inc., the discharging stevedores at Houston, Texas.
