J.U. (father) appeals from an order entered by the Ford County District Court in the child in need of care (CINC) case concerning N.U., the daughter of J.U. and C.B. (mother). Recognizing that N.U.’s home state was Nebraska where J.U. still resided, on January 5, 2015, the district court exercised temporary emergency jurisdiction over N.U. pursuant to K.S.A. 2015 Supp. 23-37,204(a), found that N.U. was a CINC, placed her with mother (a Kansas resident), and stated that its CINC order would “remain in force for a period of 6 mos., pursuant to K.S.A. 23-37,204(c).” The 6-month…
