KALODNER, Circuit Judge.
The United States filed a libel in admiralty seeking the forfeiture of the tanker “Lake George”. Four separate causes were asserted in support of the relief requested, three based upon alleged violations of ship registry laws1 and the fourth upon alleged violation of the Shipping Act of 1916,2 as amended. In a broad sense, the least common denominator of the four “causes of forfeiture” is the misrepresentation of facts relating to the true ownership interests in the tanker.
