DECISION AND JUDGMENT ENTRY

{¶ 1} Timothy A. Steward appeals the trial court's judgment, arguing that the court lacked jurisdiction to convict him of receiving stolen property as he was a juvenile at the time he committed the offense. Because the plain language of R.C. 2913.51(A), the receiving stolen property statute, provides that a violation occurs when a person retains property known to be obtained through the commission of a theft offense and Steward was convicted for possessing stolen property after his eighteenth birthday, we conclude that it is irrelevant when Steward first obtained…
