The defendant, while operating an automobile in the State of Connecticut, met with an accident. An action was thereafter brought against him by Charles Montanaro in the Court of Common Pleas, Fairfield county, Conn., to recover damages for injury to property. The defendant was and still is a resident of the State of New York. He was not served with process in the State of Connecticut nor was any property belonging to him attached. He did nob appear personally or by attorney. Service was made by delivering a copy of the process to the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles of the State of Connecticut…
