1Opinion of the Court

THOMPSON, Senior Circuit Judge:

Manik Ahmed (“Ahmed”), a native and citizen of Bangladesh, petitions for review of a final order by the Board of Immigration Appeals (“BIA”) affirming a ruling by the Immigration Judge (“IJ”) denying him a continuance of removal proceedings pending his appeal to the Administrative Appeals Office (“AAO”) of the denial of his 1-140 visa application. We have jurisdiction under 8 U.S.C. § 1252. We conclude that the IJ abused her discretion in denying the continuance. We grant the petition for review and remand for further proceedings.
