OPINION

EDWARD WEINFELD, District Judge.

This action by Lydia Diaz, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, has brought in its wake a series of motions by Diaz, proposed intervenors and the defendants. Diaz and the proposed intervenors are recipients of public assistance, Aid to Families with Dependent Children (“AFDC”),1 under various provisions of the Social Security Act.
