This is a workmen's compensation case.
The trial judge awarded workmen's compensation benefits to the employee after making the following findings of fact:
"[T]he Plaintiff, Clovis H. Chandler, was an employee of the Defendant . . . prior to September 2, 1982, the Plaintiff contracted an occupational disease arising out of and in the course of his employment with the Defendant, as defined by Code of Alabama 1975, Section 25-5-110, et seq., as last amended; that said occupational disease was not in and of itself disabling until, to-wit, September 2, 1982, when the Plaintiff was engaged in…
