This is an automobile negligence case. Plaintiff, Lorraine Morrison, was a passenger in the automobile driven by her husband. Defendant was a Michigan State police officer driving a marked police car in the performance of his duties at the time of the accident. The accident happened on Dixie highway, a 4-lane highway in Saginaw county. Defendant was driving north and after observing a speeding car going south, he made a U-turn in front of the vehicle in which plaintiff was riding to apprehend the speeder.
