Harris v. Daugherty
Texas Supreme Court
Appeal from Wilson. Tried below before Hon. Geo. McCormick. The opinion states the case,
1Opinion of the Court
Gaines, Associate Justice.
This was a proceeding to try the rights of property in certain cattle and horses levied upon by virtue of a writ of attachment in favor of appellee against the property of John H. Slaughter and claimed by appellant. The claimant Harris alleged title to the property by virtue of a bill of sale executed to him by Slaughter before the levy of the writ. The plaintiff in the writ, who is also styled plaintiff in this proceeding, attacked the bill of sale upon the ground that it was made to hinder, delay, and defraud the creditors of the seller.
