MEMORANDUM OPINION AND ORDER

HOLDERMAN, District Judge:

In April 1993, plaintiff Karen M. Emmel, after complying with the jurisdictional prerequisites, filed the initial complaint in this suit (R. 1 1-1) under Title VII, as amended by the Civil Rights Act of 1991, 42 U.S.C. § 2000e-2(a)(l). The complaint alleged that defendant Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Chicago, Inc. 2 (“Coca-Cola”) committed employment discrimination in 1992 against plaintiff Emmel because of her gender.
