REINHARDT, Circuit Judge:

Following a bench trial, Amnon Saadya and Marco Abkasis were convicted of conspiracy to possess cocaine with intent to distribute and possession of cocaine for distribution in violation of 21 U.S.C. §§ 841(a)(1) and 846 (1982). Saadya was also convicted of unlawfully carrying a firearm during the commission of a felony in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 924(c)(2) (1982). Saadya and Abkasis appeal their convictions on a number of grounds.
