This is an appeal from an assessment by the defendant administrator1 of the Connecticut Unemployment Compensation Act pursuant to General Statutes § 31-2702 for unpaid contributions allegedly *239due under the act from the plaintiff, Walter N. Latimer. The assessment was based on a determination by the administrator that the plaintiff was the employer, within the meaning of General Statutes § 31-222 (a) (1) (B) (ii), of certain individuals who rendered services to him in his home during the first two calendar quarters of 1987.3 The plaintiff claimed, to the contrary, that the subject individuals…
