Defendant was convicted in 1996 of various crimes, including two counts of felony murder and one count of second-degree assault. On the second-degree assault conviction, defendant was sentenced to 34 months’ imprisonment, to run consecutively to his 240-month sentences for murder. The court entered a judgment and then a corrected judgment that described the sentence for second-degree assault as a “presumptive” sentence pursuant to grid block 8-C of the sentencing guidelines.
