Priests for Life v. United States Department of Health and Human Services
District Court, District of Columbia
1Opinion of the Court
MEMORANDUM OPINION
Emmet G. Sullivan, United States District Judge
This case presents one of many challenges to the contraceptive services mandate of the Affordable Care Act (“ACA”), Pub.L. No. 111-148, 124 Stat. 119 (2010). A number of circuits, including the District of Columbia Circuit, have examined the mandate’s requirements regarding contraceptive coverage for employees of for-profit companies; that issue is now pending before the Supreme Court. See Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc. v. Sebelius, 723 F.3d 1114, (10th Cir.2013) (en banc), cert. granted, 2013 U.S. LEXIS 8418 (U.S. Nov. 26, 2013)…
