This is an appeal from a decrée of the chancery court of the city of Richmond, dismissing the bill of the complainant, James P. Wooddy, who is the appellant here.

The bill states, in substance, that on the 16th day of April, 1875, the defendant contracted with the complainant to insure his building in the town of Tappahannock, in Essex county, Virginia, against loss or damage by fire, to the amount of one thousand dollars, the risk to commence on the said 16th day of April, and continue one year; that the consideration for the insurance was a premium of twelve dollars and fifty cents, which…
