The defendant appeals from the judgment of conviction, rendered after a jury trial, of burglary in the first degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-101 (a) (2),1 assault of a victim sixty or older in the third degree in violation of General Statutes *314§ 53a-61a,2 and unlawful restraint in the first degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-95.3 The defendant was also charged with and acquitted of larceny in the second degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-123 (a) (3), and larceny in the fourth degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-125 (a).
