visions in the province and state relating to the settlement and distribution of the estates of deceased persons. The earliest statutes followed in most respects the statute of 22 and 23 Car. II, enacted in 1670. See 1 N. H. PrOv. Laws (Batch, ed.), p. 566; Prov. Laws, ed. 1771, p. 104; Laws, ed. 1815, p. 207.
