Charles Otis Lawson brought suit by next friend to recover damages for personal injuries sustained by him when the automobile in which he was riding was in collision with a tractor-trailer owned by the defendant, Mason-Dixon Lines, Inc., and driven by its employee, the defendant, Ted Jones. His father, the plaintiff Marshall Lawson, filed a companion suit seeking to recover the cost of the medical treatment provided his son, and to recover for the loss of his son’s services.
