In this criminal case, the state appeals from the judgment of the trial court dismissing the substitute information charging the defendant, Deowraj Buddhu, with 142 violations of the Penal Code.1 At issue is the court’s ruling prohibiting the state from introducing, in its case-in-chief, evidence that the police *106officers seized while executing a search warrant for the residence of the defendant and his son, Satesh Buddhu.
