The defendant, Donald Briere, appeals his convictions after a jury trial in Superior Court (Dalianis, J.) of seven *618counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault, RSA 632-A:2 (Supp. 1993), and three counts of felonious sexual assault, RSA 632-A:3 (1986). The convictions stemmed from charges that on one evening the defendant sexually assaulted his three children, Michael, Krystal, and Stephanie, ages eight, six, and four, respectively.
