This writ of error is prosecuted to review the judgment of the Appellate Court for the First District affirming a judgment of the superior court of Cook county in the sum of $5000 in favor of John J. Hanrahan, Jr., against the city of Chicago. The recovery is for personal injuries alleged to have been sustained by defendant in error through the negligence of the city in permitting a wooden awning on a building located at the southwest corner of Stony Island avenue and Sixty-seventh street to be and remain in a defective condition.
