1 j>Defendant/appellant, Albert Mitchell (“Mitchell”), brings this appeal from his conviction and sentence on a charge of possession of cocaine. We affirm.

The State brought three criminal charges against Mitchell. In a bill of information filed on September 27, 2007, Mitchell was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in violation of La. R.S. 14:95.1 and with possession of cocaine in violation of La. R.S. 40:967(C). Mitchell was also charged with possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor.
