ERICKSON, Chief Justice.

The prosecution appeals from an order of the district court dismissing charges against the defendant for manufacturing a schedule II controlled substance in violation of section 18-18-105, 8 C.R.S. (1978). In dismissing the charges, the district court found that the police failed to exercise reasonable efforts to procure the presence of a confidential informant who assisted in the investigation of the defendant’s alleged criminal activities, inasmuch as the police failed to establish and employ a “regular” method of maintaining contact with the informant.
