After a jury trial Davila Williams was convicted on three counts of distrib uting, and possessing with intent to distribute, heroin and cocaine. 21 U.S.C. § 841(a)(1). The government’s principal witnesses were three undercover agents who testified that Davila Williams sold heroin to one of them on November 7, 1971, and cocaine to another on November 21. Each of the sales was witnessed by the other agents. The gift of a sample of cocaine to one of the agents on November 7 was the third offense.
