This case is before us for a second time. Following proceedings on remand from our decision in Walsh v. Ford Motor Co., 807 F.2d 1000 (D.C.Cir.1986), cert. denied, 482 U.S. 915, 107 S.Ct. 3188, 96 L.Ed.2d 677 (1987), the district court denied class action certification and thereupon dismissed the complaint, which sought relief for owners of Ford vehicles with allegedly defective transmissions. 1 The timely-filed notice of appeal designated as the appealing parties: “John F. ‘Jack’ Walsh, et al.”…
