The plaintiff, Robert Harrell, 1 brought this action alleging that the defendant, Montgomery Ward & Co. (Ward), discharged him from its employ in violation of the terms of certain policy statements issued by Ward. The trial court granted Ward’s motion to dismiss the complaint for failure to state a cause of action (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1987, ch. 110, par. 2 — 615), and Harrell has appealed.
