After losing their jobs with Newspaper Holdings, Inc. (“NHI”), Rodney Neal and Anthony Brandon each filed a so-called “hybrid” section 301/fair representation action against NHI and their union pursuant to section 301 of the Labor-Management Relations Act, 29 U.S.C. § 185, and sections 8(b) and 9(a) of the National Labor Relations Act, 29 U.S.C. §§ 158(b), 159(a).
