MERHIGE, District Judge.

This is essentially a breach of contract action brought pursuant to § 301 of the Labor Management Relations Act of 1947, 29 U.S.C. § 185(a). The plaintiffs include the Appalachian Power Company (Appalachian Power), the Central Appalachian Coal Company (Central Appalachian), the Southern Appalachian Coal Company (Southern Appalachian) and the Central Coal Company (Central).
