In 1983, plaintiff National Union Fire Insurance Company of Pittsburgh, Pa. (National Union), in New York, issued a three-year directors and officers liability and corporate reimbursement policy to defendant Ambassador Group, Inc. and its subsidiaries, Ambassador Insurance Co., a Vermont insurance company now in receivership in Vermont, and Horizon Insurance Co., a New York insurance company now in receivership in New York.
