On July 23, 1982, plaintiff, Rita Behr, filed this action against the original defendant, Club Med, Inc. (CMI), a Delaware corporation, for personal injuries allegedly sustained at the Club Med resort in Cancun, Mexico, in January 1981. On October 3, 1984, plaintiff filed a fourth-amended complaint adding Club Mediterráneo, S.A. (CMSA), a French corporation, as a party defendant.
