DILLON, Judge.
John E. Graven, Jr. and Kathryn L. Wall (“Plaintiffs”) appeal from the North Carolina Industrial Commission’s opinion and award denying their claims for benefits. For the following reasons, we affirm.
I. Background
Plaintiffs filed workers’ compensation claims for injuries sustained on 16 December 2010, which were subsequently denied by their employer, the North Carolina Department of Public Safety (“Defendant”).
