This is a libel by the owner of the schooner E. M. Porteh to recover damages sustained by a collision between said schooner and the steam-barge Leland, on the waters of Lake Michigan, on the evening of March 26,1882, the collision in question having occurred about 17 miles off the west shore of the lake, and nearly opposite a point midway between Manitowoc and Sheboygan. The Porteh was running light, bound on a voyage from Chicago to Bowley bay for a cargo of railroad ties.
