Following a jury trial, defendant Eddie Lee Matthews was convicted of deviate sexual assault, attempted rape and robbery. (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1981, ch. 38, pars. 11 — 3, 8 — 4, 11 — 1, 18 — 1.) He was sentenced to an extended term of 60 years’ imprisonment for deviate sexual assault, 30 years for attempted rape and 7 years for robbery.
