A passenger van traveling on the Indiana toll road ran into the rear of a semitrailer truck. Three of the passengers in the van, Jean Vinke, her daughter Elizabeth Vinke, and her niece, Lyn Jozsa, were killed. Another of Jean Vinke’s daughters, Mary Lou Vinke, suffered personal injuries. The representatives of the decedents’ estates and Mary Lou Vinke are the plaintiffs here. Jean Vinke’s son, David Vinke, who was driving the van, was never a plaintiff in the action.
