The motion for new trial discloses: “Defendant pleaded guilty to the charge of larceny of an automobile on April 11, 1940, which plea was accepted by the court, and a hearing then and there had. Sentence was deferred, upon the court’s recommendation of the ease to the probation office, until the probation office could make an investigation and report the findings of such investigation to the court.
