SULLIVAN, Justice.

On August 28, 1991 a jury convieted Jason Buie of Murder,1 Conspiracy to Commit Murder,2 and Arson 3 in the Randolph Cireuit Court.4 On September 25, 1991, Judge Stoh-ler sentenced Mr. Buie to sixty years on the murder count, twenty years on the conspiracy count, and twenty years on the arson count. He also ordered that the sentences be served consecutively for a total term of imprisonment of one hundred years. Mr. Buie now appeals all three convictions.

The Supreme Court of Indiana has exclusive jurisdiction of this direct appeal because the longest single sentence imposed…
