Proceeding pursuant to CPLR article 78 initiated in this court, pursuant to subdivision 4 of section 6510 of the Education Law, to review a determination of the Board of Regents which revoked petitioner’s license to practice medicine. Martin Shephard was licensed to practice medicine in New York State on August 23, 1961. His specialty was psychiatry. In 1972, a book written by him, A Psychiatrist’s Head, was published. It is an explicit narration of various sexual experiences engaged in by petitioner with various men and women, including members of encounter groups which he led. The book…
