It is objected on behalf of the appellee that the transcript of record filed here is defective, and that it contains no bill of exceptions on which we can review the rulings of the court below in the case. But the questions raised by the appellant do not require a bill of exceptions. The purpose of a bill of exceptions, as has frequently been stated, is to make that a matter of record which otherwise would not appear on the record.
