Defendant appeals from an order denying his petition to vacate a judgment pursuant to section 2 — 1401 of the Code of Civil Procedure (Code) (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1985, ch. 110, par. 2—1401), raising as issues whether the circuit court erred in denying (1) his motion for leave to plead to the registration of a foreign judgment; and (2) his section 2— 1401 petition, claiming fulfillment of the statutory requirements.
