The appellant and defendant below, D. F. Carpenter, is the son of the appellees and plaintiffs below, Joe L. 'Carpenter and wife. Plaintiffs owned a cheap farm ■containing about 50 acres in Morgan county, Kentucky, •at the time of the transactions here involved, upon which they resided .and reared a family of six children from 'the time they acquired it in 1887.
