On October 9, 1891, the Commercial Investment Company of Tacoma executed its note, to the Mason Mortgage loan Company for $2,000, payable five years after date, and its mortgage to secure said note on *506a five-acre tract of land in Pierce county, known as “Excelsior Park Tract, No. 19.” T. O. Abbott indorsed the note. On November 4, 1891, the Mason Mortgage Loan Company assigned the note and mortgage to Theodore B.
