On April 27, 1911, Annie E. Bennett instituted this suit against the Sovereign Camp of the Woodmen of the World, seeking to Recover the sum of $3,000, alleged to be due on a policy of insurance issued upon the life of J. C. Bennett, her deceased husband. The petition alleged that in 1900 J. C. Bennett was admitted to membership in a local camp of the Woodmen of the World at Bryan, Tex., and received a certificate of insurance for the sum of $3,000, in which the plaintiff was named as the beneficiary; that Bennett died on or about November 20, 1910, and was at the time in good standing in the…
